I have a niece in Burma and, for whatever reason, she's dreamed of having a mermaid costume. I had her go online, and she selected this one. So far, she's been very happy with it. The dress is pretty much as pictured on Amazon.com, without the green boa. It does come with that pink crown (it's made of foam). That crown was very important for my niece. My one warning with this dress is that it does run big and is pretty tall. I had heard other reviewers make that comment, but even so I was surprised. My niece is a very tall 5-year-old, and so we got her the size she normally wears, but even that is a bit big for her. If you can, order at least one size below what your girl would normally wear.

we just got the costume out of the bag and my daughter loves it. she says it's her "favorite costume ever!" thankfully i took the advice of the previous reviewers and ordered her the smallest size, 2-4. she is almost 4 and big for age--wears a size 5 most of the time, so it was helpful to have the reviewers give the info about the size. there was only one slight complaint. from the pics, it appears the boa comes with the costume. my daughter even asked where it was. but the package says it only contains the headband and mermaid costume. the pic is a little misleading. super quick shipping!

I ordered this for my daughter for halloween. She is 3 1/2 and of average height and weight. The 3T/4T costume runs a little big on her. It's not too long, but will have to be taken in at the shoulders. Although the costume looks beautiful in the picture, the material is very flimsy for the price. It is see through it's not actual sequins...mainly stickers which fall off. There is no lining. My daughter seems to love it except on bare skin it is very itchy, so she will more than likely have to wear clothing underneath it, which is good anyway seeing as it will probably be cold. In the picture, it fits the child beautifully and she looks beautiful in it. It will probably not fit your child in the same way, but she WILL love it.

I've ordered this costume for my daughter who was 5 last year. It did look big, but then again, it is specified in the product details that the costume runs big. My daughter is an average size child, may be a bit on a taller side. It only took few minor alterations to fit. The design and quality of the fabric is great! my daughter was very happy with her Halloween look last year, and this year my friend's daughter gets to wear this same costume!

Although my daughter loves the costume, it is flimsy and the "sequins" have already come off after the costume was worn a handful of times. My girl is an active go-getter and the costume is not holding up.

My daughter typically wears a size 5, and the size 3-4 fit her perfectly. The costume is super cute despite the flimsy material. Your child may also complain of itchiness--there's no liner on the inside of the sequins. But those are small complaints for an outfit that she'll wear one day.

This fit my 3 year old perfectly. She wears a size 6, but this costume runs large so the 3T fit her just right. I can't wait to see her in it on Halloween.
